INFORMATION ON DEPARTMENT CLASS A UNIFORMS
The new Class A uniforms are starting to come in. Check with Paul Murphy to see if you're on the initial list. If you are, you MUST turn in your current Class A in order to receive the new one. That includes your hat, jacket and pants - please keep all hardware as you will use that with the new issue.
If you have not been measured, you can do this on your own at our supplier's location. Check with Paul for specifics. Also, check with Paul for any training t-shirt or hat needs.
PLEASE NOTE: if you are buying anything for your uniform, you must check with Paul FIRST as it will require a purchase order. Anything bought with your own money and for which you will not seek Department reimbursement can, as usual, be purchased at your own expense and convenience.
I AM RESPONDING - What You Need To Do
The new I Am Responding program is now up and running! Recall that if you have text messaging on your cell phone and are currently receiving call notification that way, you are able to let chiefs and Station 1 know your intent to respond to any alarm call received this way, as well as your estimated response time and the location you're responding to.
DIRECTIONS: In order to participate in this program, please pick up an application in the Communications Room, fill it out completely, and then place the completed form in the brown envelope located in the mailing rack in this room. It should have a sign on it that says 'I Am Responding' for ease of location.
The system is now up and running, so your prompt action is appreciated. Any questions see Pete Buehler.
SFD PHYSICALS
No further physicals will be performed at the SFD. If you still need one, you will need to make arrangements directly with the physician's office below - make sure you let them know this is for a Skaneateles Fire Department physical, or you will be financially responsible for any tests/exams not required by the SFD. NOTE: you will need to return to the doctor's office 2 days after your physical appointment so that your PPD test may be read. Plan accordingly.
If you need an EKG, please let Mark Stebbins know and he will make arrangements with SAVES for you to get one.
